Bimble box, also known as Poplar Box because of the shape of the leaf, is common throughout most of inland Queensland and NSW. Bimble box is a fairly hard wood to turn, even while green, but has a quite attractive colour and figure to most of it. The timber sands well, being short-grained, and takes a high polish.
 
This bowl is 210 millimeters across the top and has a depth of 65 millimeters. It has been finished with Tung Oil and is food-safe. The natural live edge has been left on the outside to enhance a unique feature.
 
This bowl has been turned in Brisbane, Queensland. All pieces are unique and slightly differ in their design, shape, and size.
